Downtown Dothan has seen new life with 24 new businesses in the past eight months, especially if you want to shop and eat.

“Moe’s Southwestern Grill” has plans to move into the old “LaLe” building.

The River Nile is set to open its doors in February.

The owner of “Main Street Café” wants to open this month while “The District” is now serving lunch.

For shopping, “The Nature Gallery” is open with everything from artwork to jewelry.

Also, a new antique store, "Vintage Chic" has opened across the street from the buildings being restored by the Dothan Downtown Redevelopment Authority.

"Leadership is the reason these things are taking place. Mayor Thomas took charge of things and downtown was one of the things that were on the top of his list," says Mit Kirkland with the DDRA.
