More parents are sending their children to school on the bus because of rising gas prices.
That's creating a problem locally because the school system has never had to transport such a large number of students.
The major problem has to do with the Headstart Program, where parents are on a waiting list to see if bus space will become available.
Workers at the Headstart Program say every year there are more students who want to ride the bus than there are seats.
The director of the Dothan City Schools Department of Transportation says they are actively working to alleviate this problem, but they need help from the parents.
The Department of Transportation is looking to fill several bus driver positions right now.
