Early County Indictments

Two Georgia elected officials are in trouble for allegedly mishandling money.

Blakely City Clerk Sterling Jones reportedly collected $5,000 for vacation time that he added to his personnel record.

He was charged with two counts of making false statements and five counts of theft by taking.

Blakely Councilman Al Hutchins is also under fire for allegedly receiving more than $11,000 in insurance coverage meant for other city employees.

Both men were indicted by an Early County Grand Jury Friday and then released on a $10,000 bond each.
