Girl Abducted

Investigate

San Jose police say it's not clear if Jennette Tamayo escaped her kidnapper last night or if she was released before she wandered into a convenience store crying.

Police describe her as bright and articulate, and say she's helping the police search for her kidnapper.

Police say they're focusing on one suspect. They don't think it's someone who is known to the family. A deputy police chief says neither the girl's father nor her stepfather is considered a suspect.

Parts of the abduction were captured on a neighbor's security camera. The video showed a man in a car waiting outside the girl's home and following her inside when she came home from school.

Police say the girl has been reunited with her mother and other relatives.
