Late Wednesday afternoon a dedication ceremony was held in the City of Progress.
Recently, an environmental bridge was completed over a lake at the Enterprise Recreation Complex.
With the combination of state and local funds, city officials say the bridge will become an important part of the park's popularity.
In fact, several nearby Wiregrass cities are looking at building similar structures.
"This is a great project. Accessible for the physically challenged. We’ve had a lot of people out here today. We need these projects for everybody to use," said Crystal Davis of Alabama Dept. of Economic Community Affairs.
The Enterprise Recreational Complex draws thousands of people across the tri-states each year, and officials say that puts dollars into the local economy.
