Enterprise is looking to save on its landfill tipping costs. The town has rolled out the green carpet for old Christmas trees.
Enterprise public works personnel are grinding the old trees into mulch. The majority of the mulch will be used by the city and several state agencies. Officials hope to have a surplus for residents who request it.
By grinding the trees as opposed to disposing in the county landfill, it makes dollars and sense and is environmentally prudent.
Those interested in leaving their old Christmas trees can do so outside the north fence of the public works yard in Enterprise.
