The largest road-building company in North America is being sold.
Officials with Ashland Paving and Construction, or APACK, announced the $1.3 billion deal Monday.
APACK operates in 14 Southern and Midwestern states. The company has a branch office in Dothan.
A memo to local employees reportedly says they should not be affected by the sale. APACK currently has nearly 10,000 workers.
The sale to a corporation based in Ireland should be completed by the end of this month.
