The head of the Houston County Commission says Gov. Bob Riley's tax reform plan would cost the county millions of dollars over the next two decades.
Alabama lawmakers are currently debating the plan during a special session in Montgomery.
Mark Culver says he has figured out the plan would cost Houston County about $15 million over the next 20 years.
Culver says most of the losses would come from charges in the way property taxes are assessed against the Farley Nuclear Plant and the county would be hit hard.
Culver says Riley's plan would cost Houston County schools more than half-a-million dollars and Dothan city schools $400,000 a year, starting in 2010.
He says the Alabama County Commission Association is trying to push through an amendment that would spread out the losses and make them easier to handle.
