Local sheriff and police departments received state funding for the 12th straight year to cut down on illegal drug use and violent crimes.
The state gave $114,000 to the Wiregrass violent crime drug task force.
Police say they will be able to set a budget to include paying officers and maintaining equipment.
Ozark's police department applied for the grant, but it will also benefit the Daleville Police and Dale County Sheriff's Departments.
In previous years the affected communities had to only contribute half of the amount of money awarded.
The communities must match the contributions of the state.
