A five-day federal disaster simulation kicked off Monday in Houston County.
The exercise is designed to better train federal, state and local officials on how to deal with disasters.
The drill focuses on radiation contamination in the Dothan area and will test how well all agencies are prepared for such an event.
“We're looking at this as a training event. We will never be able to simulate this again. We have a lot of young people that will be here for a long time,” said Clark Matthews of Houston County EMA.
