Tree Cutting and Clean Up

When bad weather rolls through the area like we saw earlier this week, it usually brings with it less-than-honest people out to make a quick buck.

That's why you need to be on the lookout for fly-by-night tree cutting operations.

A legitimate tree cutter should present a license and liability insurance when their service is requested.

If they aren't licensed, you will have to clean the debris up yourself.

If they are a commercially owned company, that company will remove what they've cut down.

“You should look for trucks that are not lettered, magnetic signs; most of our trucks have lettering on them, anything that has a temporary business standpoint,” said Bruce Strickland of Dothan Tree Service.

To find out if a company has a business license, you can call the city of Dothan’s Planning And Development Office at 615-4410.
