Ozark Man Gets Prison in Child Abuse Charges

An Ozark man who pled guilty to aggravated child abuse last month was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Twenty-four-year-old Eddie Ledbetter was convicted of abusing his girlfriend’s seven-year-old son.

Ledbetter faced up to 20-years in prison and received a $30,000 fine.

Family members of the young boy say Tuesday's sentencing is "bitter sweet."

The boy's 27-year-old mother was also charged with child abuse. June Vicky Henry is still waiting to stand trial.

I am a family member of Eddie. I do not believe he took part in the abuse. The mother should be held accountable. Eddie's kids told of her locking them in their room w/o food or water when Eddie was away working to support her. The only thing he is guilty of is being ignorant for loving such a person as her. Seriously..if he "was" abusing her child..what kind of mom is she for not stopping it herself? How was she raised?

The torture and severe child abuse that my Grandson was subjected to was much more severe than first reported. Eddie's family knew about this abuse but did not report it to any law officers. I feel they are also guilty of trying to cover up the child abuse. 20 years is not enough time for what Eddie did to my 7 year old Grandson. He is mentally and physically scared for life.

Ledbetter should have got more time for doing that to a child.HENRY should have stop it.if she had part of it she should get the same time for the crime.to many kids is getting abuse just in our state alone.
