Dothan Man Faces Attempted Murder, Robbery Charges

The suspect in a robbery and shooting Monday night has been arrested.

The suspect, 20-year-old Raashaan Calique King from Dothan, is being held without bond at the Houston County Jail for attempted murder, first degree robbery and theft of property.

Police say around 9 p.m. Monday night the suspect robbed the McGriff grocery store in the 600 block of North Range Street in Dothan.

Investigators tell News 4, a gunman stole money from the store and shot the store owner multiple times in the lower extremities.

The suspect then stole the victim's 1991 Lincoln Town car.

Deputies with the Houston County Sheriff's office spotted the vehicle and pursued it.

The suspect wrecked the car on Kinsey Road then fled on food, but he was captured.

The male victim, was taken to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center and is expected to be recover.
