High Speed Chase

arrest

An Alabama state trooper was lead on a high-speed chase Thursday when he tried to stop a car because the driver wasn't wearing her seat belt.

Nineteen-year-old Jaquinta Knighton is charged with reckless endangerment, second-degree possession of marijuana, criminal mischief and numerous traffic violations.

Knighton was initially heading south on Highway 231 in Ozark when the trooper tried to pull her over.

She sped off and eventually lost control of her car, spun around and headed south in the Northbound lane to oncoming traffic.

Knighton finally ran off the highway near the Texaco Station on County Road 18.

When troopers searched her car they found marijuana, a large amount of cash and several credit cards that didn't belong to Knighton.
