A Barbour County store owner will be back at work after being shot in the face Friday. Police say three men attempted to rob the Day and Night Groceries in Spring Hill Community, but the group took off before getting anything.
These are some of the bullet holes from an attempted armed robbery at Day and Night Groceries.
Investigators tell News 4 one of the three suspects fired five to six shots.
Some shots, according to police, were aimed at the store, while others were meant for an approaching car.
The store owner was injured when one of the bullets hit his cheek under his left eye.
“I didn't know that I was hit until I felt my face and saw blood. I realized I had been hit,” said McDonald Comer.
Police say this may not have been the only time these suspects have committed a case like this.
“We're going to continue to search for them, and hopefully we'll come to a good end on it. There's a possibility that they are connected to some other crimes," said Sheriff Marshall Williams of Barbour Co. Sheriff's Dept.
That case could be in Hurtsburo where a store owner was shot at during a robbery, but police aren't confirming any link right now.
All three were men dressed in camouflage clothing, wearing masks. Police say they may all carry guns and these men are considered armed and dangerous.
