Troy University Welcomes Confucius Institute

Troy is the first university to have the institute on its campus in the state of Alabama.

The two-year work in progress is aimed at promoting Chinese language and culture among students, along with building a strong work relationship for economic development.

"We will see the people of Alabama truly begin to understand the Chinese culture, the language and the potential that a great working relationship will hold between the people of our two countries," says Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins.

Renovations will soon begin on Bibb-Graves Hall to make room for the Confucius Institute.
