Heat a Possible Factor in Geneva Man’s Death

The nationwide heat wave has claimed more than 150 lives from coast to coast. Authorities say the latest possible victim of the heat is from the Wiregrass.

Family members found Nathan Pierce dead inside his mobile home Wednesday afternoon in Geneva County’s Lowery community.

Pierce's body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensics in Mobile for an autopsy, but local officials tell News 4 there didn't appear to be any foul play involved.

The 42-year-old was reportedly complaining of heat-related illness when he was last seen alive last Friday afternoon.

Pierce did not have air conditioning in his home and the temperature inside was more than 100 degrees when his body was discovered.
