Cottondale Armed Robbery

arrest

A security camera videotape led to the arrest of an armed robbery suspect in Northwest Florida Wednesday.

At around 1:30 a.m., James Douglas allegedly held-up the Tom Thumb Convenience Store in Cottondale.

It's located at the intersection of Highways 231 and 90.

Douglas reportedly told the clerk that he had a gun, and took money from the cash register before fleeing on foot.

Cottondale Police Chief William Watford watched the surveillance tape and recognized Douglas.

Douglas is in the Jackson Correctional Facility in Marianna on armed robbery charges.
