A 36-year-old Rockmart, Georgia., man is dead after authorities say he tried to cut copper cable from a Georgia Power Company Pole.
Floyd County police identified the victim as Derek Charles Siniard. The incident happened at about 6 a.m. Saturday. Hall says Siniard collapsed while cutting the line.
An autopsy is planned to determine how the victim died. Two females took the victim to Floyd Medical Center.
A second Rockmart man, 39-year-old Stephen Kyle Williams, was later arrested on two felonies and two misdemeanors in the incident.
He was taken to Floyd County jail.
Police say they recovered night-vision gear and wire-cutting equipment.
