This historical election has brought us record breaking voter turnouts.
Secretary of state Beth Chapman is predicting Alabama will break its record turnout of 76 percent in the 1992 presidential race.

Lines were long early this morning.
Houston county probate judge Luke Cooley says she does not have any numbers yet but the percentage of registered voters that came out today is huge.
As a matter of fact, she says she thinks it beat the county's record of 71 per cent.
Even though the crowds were heavy, poll workers handled it well and the public was on good behavior.

"My poll workers have been exceptional with all the problems people have brought to them and they are so patient but I really appreciate how patient voters have been. There have been some issues, but everyone has given us a chance to try and rectify those problems." Says Judge Cooley

Tomorrow Houston County officials will have more stats available for us.
Until then, workers seem to be winding down after taking in all these results.
