Alabama Drought Conditions

Quick relief is not expected from dry conditions that have left much of the state in a drought.

The drought burned up much of the state's corn before it could be harvested and is threatening to ruin the cotton and peanut crops.

National weather service officials said the dry conditions have been classified a drought in much of the state.

Conditions range from extreme drought in parts of south Alabama to moderate drought in much of central Alabama.
