People from all across the wiregrass and the tri state area will be coming into Dothan to participate in the festivities this week.
A ribbon cutting ceremony took place 5:00 Friday night to officially open the 2008 National Peanut Festival.

If you did not get your tickets already...admission is 7 dollars at the gate.
North American Midway Entertainment will be providing the rides. Coupons for those are sold separately, but there are daily specials, as seen on our website.

If you are coming to the fair at all this week, keep in mind that there are 2 fairground entrances-One for those coming in northbound and one for those coming from the south.
Be sure to use the one that is closest to you.
Organizers say that by doing so, traffic will be more orderly.

There was also a recipe contest that took place Friday.
Paxton Peacock won in the children's division for his peanut butter cheesecake and Ann Fennel won in the adult division for her peanut chicken quiche.
