Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Chuck Conner has announced the expansion of the Conservation Reserve Program for emergency haying and grazing.
Counties approved for haying and grazing in several states are eligible, including Alabama.
Conner also announced producers' CRP rental payment will be reduced by only 10-percent instead of the standard 25-percent on CRP lands grazed in 2006.
To be approved for emergency haying or grazing, a county must be listed as a level "D-3 Drought", meaning extreme or greater.
