Family Homeless After Early Morning Fire

A Wicksburg family lost everything in an early Wednesday morning fire.

Allen Morphis noticed smoke in the house around 1:30 p.m., the fire was fully involved when fire fighters arrived on the scene.

Morris and his wife Margie escaped unharmed.

Efforts to put out the flames were hampered by a lack of water nearby.

Firefighters from Bay Springs, Newton, Daleville, Clayhatchee, and Wicksburg responded.

The Houston County Sheriff's Department and the Red Cross also helped.
