Job Fair Held for Former Employees of B.A.E. Systems

A large turnout of former B.A.E. systems employees took part in a job fair geared to their needs Wednesday afternoon.

Geneva residents Diane Ivey and Tiffany Woodham worked together for several years. Last month, the Arizona-based, body-armor manufacturer closed the doors to its Geneva plant.

That action put 200 area residents on the unemployment line.

The Geneva-Enterprise based economic group helped spearhead Wednesday's event.

Some two-dozen manufacturers took job applications.

For Diane and Tiffany there B.A.E. severance package will end around Christmas; hard times' this upcoming holiday season.

Wayne Farms took part at Wednesday's fair.

That company's Enterprise poultry processing plant is looking to add several hundred jobs over coming months.
