A $2.5 million tax is on the table for vote for Barbour County.
If passed, $1 million of the money would help health care facilities in the area and the remaining would cover the jail debt.
County officials say the added tax would help free up more money for the community.
"We can free up that money that we're having to pay, make payments which is around $350,000 a year which would take out of our operating expense to pay debt and that would be free up so we could use that and provide the services for the people in the county," says Co-Chairperson of Barbour County Commission, Pat Ivey.
The vote for the tax will be made November 4th.
