A Dothan store that's been in business for more than 60 years is closing.
The Kennigton's clothing store sign came down early Wednesday morning.
The store found its original roots on foster street in downtown Dothan.
Owners moved it to its current location in the circle west shopping plaza a little more than 20-years ago.
Owner Elizabeth Lambert says she wants to retire.
“which was sad for me and i will miss it, but I’m starting a new life, i have not had a life like this in 42 years, i will have a Christmas...I won't have to worry about coming in the next day,” said Lambert.
Lambert says she's surprised no one wanted to buy the women's apparel store from her and says she'll miss her customers.
