Jury Selection Begins in Criminal Trial Against Probate Judge

Jury selection began Monday in the criminal trial of former Covington County Probate Judge Sherrie Phillips.

A 6-count indictment charges her with stealing 1.8 million dollars from the estate of a Conecuh County man who died last year.

A Montgomery County judge is hearing the case.

The prosecution is being handled by the attorney general's office.

Phillips could get up to 20 years in prison on each count if she's convicted.
