Driving behavior, including speeding, seat belt use and impaired driving will be closely monitored by Alabama State Troopers this 4th of July travel period.
Extra troopers are expected to patrol the heavily traveled roadways, including interstates and popular beach and vacation routes.
Officials say checkpoints will also be set up across the state in conjunction with the nationwide operation care campaign to promote traffic safety during holiday periods.
The four-day holiday weekend officially begins Friday evening at 6 pm and ends at midnight Tuesday, July fourth.
