A man is in critical condition after his truck was swiped by a mini-van. Dothan police say the wreck happened around 10 am Wednesday morning, when a woman driving an Astro mini-van crossed the median on Highway 431.
The driver of a white pick-up truck was headed south when he was side-swiped as the van attempted to pull out and cross Highway 431 onto West Grey Hodges Road.
The truck flipped several times before landing on its hood.
The driver, who police say may not have been wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the truck.
Traffic has been re-routed and is expected to resume back to normal by early afternoon.
“Right now there's only one northbound lane open, uh, the other northbound lane is closed and it's for Southbound traffic only, in this area it's extremely conjested and we ask no on to come this direction if they don't have to,” said Sgt. Tim Ward of Dothan Police Department.
Both drivers have been transported to the southeast Alabama medical center. Names have not been released. Charges are pending against the driver of the mini-van, and her injuries are not life-threatening.
