Judge Larry Anderson revoked the bond for an Ashford woman accused of killing a Dothan City Employee in a fatal February accident. Judge Anderson says Tammy Devane is a danger to society.
On February 23, Tammy Melinda Devane of Ashford was driving a blue Nissan car on Cowarts Road when Devane rammed the back of a Dothan City truck killing 57-year-old Johnny White.
Devane was charged with manslaughter and released on bond. Then on June 14 Devane was arrested again on DUI charges.
Judge Anderson said, “It’s certainly clear she's in danger for that reason revoke is granted.”
The state called Houston County Deputy Robert Jenkins to the stand Wednesday.
Deputy Jenkins said the night of the DUI, Devane admitted to inhaling aerosol cans and she failed two of his three sobriety tests.
“Clearly she was under the influence of something,” said Deputy Jenkins.
The state asked for a bond revocation. The defense asked for bond to be reinstated and rehabilitation.
The state won while Devane sat quietly shaking her head after the decision was made.
Devane had two relatives present who supported her. No one was present in support of victim Johnny White.
Although it won't make a difference in Devane's incarceration, Judge Larry Anderson did set $5,000 bond for the DUI charge.
