NAACP State Conference in Dothan

The event started yesterday and goes through Saturday. Greater Beulah Family Life Center is playing to host many workshops and events.

Dothan's Edward Vaughn is the president of the state conference. He says 50 counties in Alabama are participating in local chapters.

Edward Vaughn, the President of the NAACP Alabama State Conference, says, “We have workshops. We have people from the Equal Employment Office out of Birmingham, we have people here from the southern poverty law center out of Montgomery. We have people very active in voter registration and voting activities throughout the state. It's a very big convention.”

The public is invited to a gospel concert featuring Reverend Eddie Bray, Professor Theodore Whiting, and the Southeast Alabama Community Choir beginning at 7 p.m.

The concert is free of charge.
