Hundreds of civilians and soldiers gathered for the Combat Readiness Center change of command.
Brigadier General Bill Forrester handed over the position to Brigadier General William Wolf.
Forrester says he sees positive changes for the future.
"We've had seven years of war and this is the best rate that we've had as far as losses so I think what we see is that leaders understand and they're pushing it down to soldiers to try to get them to acknowledge and understand and take ownership of each other," says Brigadier General Bill Forrester.
Change of command is held every two years on Fort Rucker's post.
