Old Jail Transforms Into Halloween Nightmare

Built nearly a century-ago the Old Coffee County Jail in Elba has seen its fair share of tragedy.

Spirits of the lost will fill the jail cells on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night through November.

The haunted jail has become a Wiregrass tradition during the Halloween season.

The participants often spend countless hours in preparation of their costumes and their fiendish routine in front of the paying spectator.

The haunted jail tours begin at 7 p.m. and there is a $5 entry fee for children and adults alike to enter the world of the dead in downtown Elba.
