PRESIDENTIAL ALES
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - It's time for a round of "Ale" to the chief. A Northern California brewery is inviting beer drinkers to belly up to the bar and make a heady choice for president. The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company is selling ales labeled "Obama" and "McCain." So far, the brewery says Obama is outselling McCain four-to-one. But unlike the real election, the "alection" is encouraging customers to vote early and often. And we'll let you in on a little secret. The Obama and McCain suds are exactly the same, only the labels are different.

PALIN-LOOKALIKE STRIPPERS
LAS VEGAS (AP) - Tina Fey isn't the only performer getting mileage out of looking like Sarah Palin. A Sin City strip club is inviting exotic dancers for a Palin lookalike contest. Club Paradise in Las Vegas says strippers from all over the country will compete. The pseudo Palins will strut their stuff wearing swimsuits and be asked to debate, too. A news release says club patrons will vote for the winner. The club owners note the real GOP V.P. nominee competed as a beauty queen years ago. The winning stripper will get a $10,000 package, including a trip to Washington for Inauguration Day in January.

STRIP CLUB INJURY
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Visiting a strip club has its risks
-- and it's not just getting caught by your honey. A Florida man is suing the Booby Trap club in Pompano Beach. Charles Privette claims a stripper's shoe flew off while she was doing a pole dance. The man says the flying shoe broke a mirrored glass ceiling and the falling shoe and shattered glass hit him. He claims the club should have made sure the exotic dancer was practicing safe stripping. Privette is seeking at least $15,000 in damages. His lawyer says the pole dance accident left the man with a small cut, headaches and nose bleeds.

BIG BURGER
CLEARFIELD, Pa. (AP) - Brad Sciullo expects he'll have quite a burger hangover. He's the first person to eat a mountain of beef called the Beer Barrel Belly Bruiser. It's a 15-pound burger served at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, about 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Clearfield, Pa. Add the bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, and other toppings and you have more than 20 pounds of mega-burger. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound chef managed to down the monster meal in 4 hours and 39 minutes. He wins the restaurant's burger challenge by finishing under the five-hour limit. And he waddles away with more than a tummy ache. Sciullo wins $400, three T-shirts and a certificate.

QUICK DRAW WOUND
BARRE, Vt. (AP) - Police in Vermont report one man was a little too quick on the draw. Officers report Gordon Monteith shot himself in the leg while practicing a quick draw. Rescue crew members found him sitting on a sidewalk after the accident and took him to a hospital. Police say he's in stable condition.

SEWER SNAKE
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. (AP) - The sewer snake is no urban legend -- at least not in the Tacoma, Washington, area. Workers at a Pierce County sewage treatment plant found a real, live sewer snake. County officials say a four-and-a-half-foot-long snake was discovered during routine maintenance. A worker poked it with his walkie-talkie antenna and it moved. A supervisor says the slithering sewer serpent even tried to bite him. Experts ID the creature as a non-venomous white corn snake. It's being turned over to the Humane Society.
