Enterprise Senior Citizen Picnic

Thursday, more than several hundred older folks in the Wiregrass took part in a special day held in their honor.

It was all part of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce’s fourth annual Senior Picnic.

Each year, city representatives roll out the red carpet for those folks who are enjoying their "golden years".

Several national publications have listed Enterprise as one of the top 20 places to retire.

Chamber officials say that's no secret. It's all about the quality of life here.

Phil Thomas, director at the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce said, “I think folks quickly realize the weather, the southern charm and all the amenities that Enterprise offers to seniors. It’s a town that can be known as the friendliest."

Country Music Star John Anderson performed a number of his recording hits for the crowd.
