Pizza Delivery Robbery Backfires

A robbery attempt backfires when the intended victim decides to fight back.

Dothan police say, around 10 p.m. Sunday night, a Hungry Howie's pizza delivery person was victim of an attempted robbery on the 400 block of East Crawford Street in downtown Dothan.

Eighteen-year-old Khiry Beacham allegedly attacked the driver with a brick. He was shot in the lower leg by the delivery man when attempting to flee the scene.

After being treated by Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Beacham was transported to the Houston County Jail on charges of first degree robbery.

Beacham's accomplice, Michael Pope, fled the scene and is still currently at large.
