A bio-hazard training exercise took place Tuesday in Coffee County involving state and local agencies.
The University of Alabama Birmingham Medical School along with the Alabama Department of Health is conducting four exercises statewide.
In the exercise a tour bus pulls over with several extremely sick passengers; within minutes they start to die.
Emergency officials are called in to try and quarantine those who are infected.
UAB medical students play the roles of the sick and dying passengers.
A fake TV news reporting crew is even used to get emergency responders prepared for all situations.
"It may look like chaos. But there's actually a plan and to see them go through this exercise to create a learning environment for this to take place," said Dr. Andrew Rucks.
Later this summer, a similar bio-hazard training exercise will be held in Tuscaloosa.
