The cities of Freeport and Paxton have become Florida's newest additions to the Department of Elder Affairs' Communities for a Lifetime.
Paxton sits along the Florida-Alabama state line.
Its city council has planned in areas as affordable housing, transportation, health, and wellness.
The city also stresses to hire seniors, and hopefully remain independent in the golden years. A council on aging representative being a small town is also beneficial to older Americans.
By being a designated lifetime community, it'll help Paxton officials better implement improvements that benefits residents of all ages.
