Wallace Community College in Dothan is taking applications for their nursing program .
Sign ups are now through October 10th. Wallace Community College offers a two-year degree in both practical and registered nursing.
A large percentage of nurses in the Wiregrass come straight out of Wallace Community College, and because of the national nursing shortage, the career offers great job security.
Sally Buchanan with Wallace Community College of Dothan said, "We have educated over 3,000 nurses that have gone into the local workforce. These nurses have gone to hospitals, or they can travel."
