After a hurricane hits, gasoline station lines grow as people scramble for more fuel.
To avoid the problem, Florida Governor Jeb Bush is expected to sign a bill designed to give help.
The bill would make certain stations wired and ready to accept generators so they can start operating soon after a storm passes.
Those required are companies that own ten or more gas stations in a single county to have at least one portable generator.
Some say that it may be difficult to get fuel from the ports right away.
State emergency management officials say residents should prepare and have additional fuel on hand just in case.
