Walton County, Florida Emergency responders are preparing for the up-coming hurricane season.
Over the next two weeks, the county's public information office is holding open forums for officials and private citizens.
The purpose is to get everyone up to speed on storm preparation and evacuation routes.
Highway 331 is the only north-south roadway leading from Walton County’s skyrocketing population along the coast.
"Over 15 hours to evacuate just the people of South Walton. It takes a lot of time. We beg people to leave early," said Sara Comander, Public Information Officer.
Next Tuesday night beginning at 5:30, a second storm forum will be held at the Coastal Branch Library on Santa Rosa Beach.
Everyone's invited to attend.
