A small Wiregrass school district is reaping the benefits of last year's voter-approved billion dollar bond issue.
Recently, work was completed in removing old, worn out carpet and replacing it with tile at Opp Middle School.
In addition, energy efficient windows have been installed
This week, the district was notified that it will receive an additional $25,000 for upgrades and improvements.
Principal Aaron Hightower says having the state pick-up the tab is tremendous help.
Hightower says it's his goal to continually make infrastructure improvements to Opp Middle School.
The original portion of the school dates back to the 1950's.
