Counterfeit Bills Found in Geneva Area

counterfeit money 200x120

Geneva police say they've recovered more than 500-dollars worth of counterfeit bills in recent days.

Several Enterprise merchants also took in some fake bills last week.

Authorities are not sure if the two cases are connected.

Geneva police investigators say the fake money appears to have been made with a scanner and a color printer.

Anyone with information about the case can call Geneva police at 684-2777.

This is amature stuff ie some idiot with a scanner. US currency is easily detected by just holding it up to the light. Watermarks, security tread etc. Its the merchants fault for not checking.
