Friday night, the 14th Annual Coffee County Relay for Life got underway on the campus of Enterprise-Ozark Community College.
The event officially kicked-off at daybreak with the survivor celebration breakfast.
More than 300 area cancer survivors along with family members heard inspirational words from those who know first-hand about the dreaded disease.
Through astonishing advances in medical science, cancer is no longer a death sentence.
Coffee County’s Relay-for-Life is traditionally one of the most successful in the entire country.
"Its community spirit... this county always had had a strong drive to work with the American Cancer Society. We know we will help with research by the donations that will be done,” said Linda Andress, Relay-for-Life Co-Chair.
Friday night Relay-for-Life event generate around $200,000 in donations for the American Cancer Society.
