Richardson Opposes Lottery

Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman's latest lottery proposal to fund education is getting some flack from State School Superintendent Ed Richardson.

Richardson said he opposes the plan because it wouldn't raise enough money.

According to Richardson, public schools need an extra $1.6 billion a year to provide an adequate education for all students.

Siegelman said a lottery is just one part of his plan to raise money for schools.
