Dothan Cop Shift Change

Dothan's police officer's are again changing their shifts. They started with a 12 hour shift then to 10 hours, now back to a 12 hour shifts again.

The city's personnel board approved for patrol officers to have a modified rotating shift.

They'll have two days on, two days off, three days on call, then three day's off.

This new shift will give officer's a weekend off, and an opportunity to recuperate.

Capt. Nick Monday said, “This allows the opportunity for the officer's to rest. The old way, when they worked 4-12 hour shifts, they worked four days in a row and fatigue was a factor.”

The shift change is effective June 25.
