Evacuees Begin Arriving in Eufaula and Wallace Campus

Workers at the Bevill Center shelter on the Wallace Community College campus in Eufaula opened their doors for evacuees this weekend.

Shelter and school officials began preparing Saturday in anticipation of Gustav's arrival.

The Bevill Center, mainly used for workforce development training has been converted into a shelter that can house more than 100 evacuees.

The shelter will remain on stand by until further notice, but officials are optimistic classes can resume Tuesday.
