A convicted killer from Houston County will remain behind bars at least a while longer.
Neal Walker of Cottonwood was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his live-in girlfriend.
Judy Jett was killed in September of 1993. Her badly burned body was found at the edge of a peanut field near the Florida state line.
Walker was up for parole Monday in Montgomery, but district attorney Doug Valeska convinced the parole board not to release him.
Walker won't be eligible for parole again.
