A Panama City, Florida woman is in jail tonight, accused of stealing more than $8,000 from Bay District Schools.

38-year-old Pamela McKinny is charged with Grand Theft.

Panama City Police say McKinny was employed by Bay District Schools for about a year as a secretary.

Investigators say she had access to school board bank accounts and a credit card.

She's accused of making several personal purchases totalling more than $2,600.

She's also accused of stealing four donated gift cards valued at $1,000 each.

Those cards were going to be used to buy clothes and school supplies for underprivileged children.

Finally, authorities say she stole more than $1,300 in case from funds designated for field trips.

McKinny has turned herself into the Bay County Jail.
